Today, I woke up. Whoopee. Something new for a change. Add some coffee and orange juice and man...I was revolutionary.

Okay, I get it, nothing different. I did get to add two peaches to breakfast for a change and I was not complaining. Besides that change to my little breakfast routine, Anna and I also made the dough for our apple pie crust thanks to Smitten Kitchen and her extra flaky pie crust recipe. Essentially just flour and butter, LOTS and LOTS of butter that I got to crumble in my hands and mix all together. What I am trying to say is that this was my kind of morning.

After starting the day in the same way I planned on ending it, I headed towards the day's discoveries that were linked with the concept of the "cosmopolitain." Starting at la Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, I fell in love with what it had to offer. With the Eiffel Tower rising up in the background, the museum sat comfortably in the foreground. Despite being quite a touristic region, it can still and did still take my breath away. Being a young student is once again a gift that I realize I need to cherish more as it gets me into places. Flashing my little Reid Hall card is a beautiful power. Getting to explore the exposition Le Mobilier d'Architects, I increased my repertoire for my summer project. I am continually amazed at how much the city has to offer. I could have stayed and admired the sketches and toy models for hours, but I had one more stop before class.

Off to Paris’ Museum of Modern Art, I was hit hard by how disturbing I found the expositions. I left with this pit in my stomach and my skin crawling a little bit. I guess that may have been the point so for that, well done.

Taking the bus back, stood up to give at least my seat to some of the older folk who walked on. I feel strange not doing it, my parents taught me well when I was younger. It is not that my legs did not want to be sitting, but it is polite. I can say with certainty that not everyone has had that kind of upbringing.

Meeting up with Anna in class, I was fortunate enough to get a few spoons from her jar of Nutella, my spoon being a paper that I wrapped up. I would not call that desperate, just inventive. I also carried around watermelon with me all day. Evidently that also went down to my stomach.

After class, we had a plan, a plan to make an apple pie with the perfect crumble on top. Ladies and gentlemen, that is exactly what we did; we made a TOWERING apple pie with crumble that forced us to move the top rack in the oven away so as to make space. Needing more apples, I made a quick run to the store. I also needed toothpaste so as not to be a mongrel; two for one.

A night full of ginger and cinnamon, I know I have to remake it when I am back in the States.
