Some general take aways...

Baguette and butter is the breakfast of champions.

18.2 miles in sandals leads surely to a guessing game (i.e. guess how many blisters Marlena acquired today).

Buying a 15€ phone at FNAC will result in strange looks from all around. For general information, my valuable purchase is Cherry Red according to the packaging. It also has FM radio. I call that a win.

The church with the red doors in the Marais is beautiful. I lit a candle for my namesake, Marlene, my grandmother.

Falafel places are packed on Sunday’s for lunch, at least all the ones we wanted to go to were. I suggest finding a different time for your falafel cravings. You're welcome.

Instead, lunch consisted of a scrumptious quiche aux champignons/mushrooms (this is said with full authenticity). It was preceded by un croissant aux amandes. Admittedly not the freshest but I concede, it was 2pm. Lou the French on the Block is still the reigning champion (in SoCal; he is French after all). This place, Maison Manon, did heat up my tasty quiche and for that they get brownie points.

The only metro taken was to get from the 5ème arrondissement to the 11ème for dinner at Ober Mamma. Super chic, super young, super hot Italian servers. And of course, the food. Wow let’s talk about make-me-want-to-lay-on-the-floor-and-scream good.

For the first time ever I sat at a bar and ordered a drink. My beautiful rosé was accompanied by mozzarella cushioned by tomato sauce on a bed of bread. Or pizza as some shorten it.

Then a solid walk to the sparkly glittering Eiffel Tower. We have now decided to measure hours in tower sparkles. We saw hour 11pm sparkle. We then arrived after traveling the length of La Seine and sat down on lovely (probably disgusting but it was lovely because my feet hurt) grass to see the hour 12am sparkle.

That is something I will never get tired of.
